Puncheur – The toughest sport in the world
Puncheur Limited Edition Art Print
PUNCHEUR is an annual cyclosportive based in Ditchling, East Sussex.
In 2008, after many long weekends of test-riding roads and lanes in Sussex, the event creator, Morgan Lewis, settled on the route and distance he was happy with, finally satisfied with the balance of challenge and reward, and that it contained an element of flow, even logic. It’s tough, but the right kind of tough – reward comes when it’s due, the next climb comes when it should.
The finale is one of the toughest finishes of any sportive in the UK – Ditchling Beacon – the last challenge, immediately followed by the exhilarating reward of nailing an iconic climb with a view back over the two counties you have ridden through.
Morgan decided that the best name to capture the rider experience, and therefore the name to give to the event was PUNCHEUR. It makes sense for the people who ride it!
This limited-edition (250) art print was commissioned to celebrate PUNCHEUR’s 10th year in 2018. The PUNCHEUR rider, out of the saddle attacking a gradient, epitomises the mindset needed to take on this parcours and achieve the best time you can.
This litho print is printed on 200gsm silk art paper.
